    Warmly, Cheri Renee’

  4. You can major in electrical engineering and minor in art theory if you want. They don't have to be connected in any way. But should if you want to spend your time getting a minor. Minors take about half the amount of classes needed for a major minus all the general education requirements since there is no use repeating that.

  5. Great video, im getting the book. Check out my video. Blaze Burna coming soon.

  6. Urban and Regional planning with a degree in Environmental Science or Geophysics is the hot combination, considering the looming issues of water shortages, global warming and steady changes in climate, the peaking of oil production in 2012 and transitions required for alternative energy, emerging community health problems ,and cultural institutional morphings such as the end of centralized education and transition to Internet schools, or, the social cocooning that is anticipated to intensify. Couple the Urban and Regional Planning with a natural science field for a career that pays well, allows you to land on your feet anywhere in the world as globalization may send you, and diversifies you with a scope of knowledge (natural science) that remains eternal and won't be washed away in massive social changes.

  7. Have you thought of the home party route? It saves you $$$ on all of that legal stuff….plus you can make tons of money! I work for a jewelry company that handles all of the business. I just do the shows and make a lot of money. Plus – the initial investment for my company is only $99 which gets you several hundreds of dollars of samples and all of the paperwork and training needed to get started. You could literally start making money (about $250-$300 or more) per show…immediately.

  8. You can't raise Emu's in urban areas.

  9. As usual another great video. Definitely subscribing. It provides a great insight into a highly complex business.

  10. You have to get a masters in Urban and Regional planning at an accredited school. So if you want to do that, then yes they compare very well.

  11. I'm sorry, but this question doesn't make any sense. Please rephrase.

  12. I think western washington might be what your looking for. Although i don't know if it meets the urban requirement.

  13. The Digital divide between urban and rural areas is both a deterent to as well as a great businessopportunity and challange to business. The digital divide hiowever is not created by business: its is caused by political regimes and the institution of govt. that puts barriers to spread of new technology and hinders the access to new technology by all citizens. This the govt does through idiootic regulations, exploiting businessmen interested in spreading the new technology. This happens in the case of any new technology but this is happening all the more in the case of internet technology because this technolgy has the potential to make the govts. become pure servants of the majority people and lose its status as the ruler of the people. Inetrnet makes possible instataneous vote on any issue, recall of elected members at any time, demand for information from the Govt all round the time, making cheating and fooling by the politicians rather very difficult. So far as the businessmen are concerned they are most interested in the spread of new technology because the greater the spread of this technology, lower are the costs of operation per time unit of internet use, higher revenues even at lower tariffs/ prices and greater spread of the same fixed costs over larger violume of business and higher profits. Business stands to gain from closing the technolgy divide between the rich and the poor or the rural and the urban as fast as they can. That is the reason they are willing to invest even get ppoor people access to ineternet. But govt.s are resiting and slowing the speed. They are afraid that the power the vast poor and rural majority of the people will start wielding over politicians and govts. is going to be enormous. But such resistance will fail except that it may take a little longer to remove the gap in fascist countries like China, Cuba, Russia etc.and corrupt socialist countries like India.
Since the mid-1990s the explosion of the Internet has prompting intense speculation about its ultimate impact upon the economy, society and politics. Many hope that the Internet will be a powerful new force capable of transforming existing patterns of social inequality, strengthening linkages between citizens and representatives, facilitating new forms of public engagement and communication, and widening opportunities for the development of a global civic society.

But will the Internet transform conventional forms of democratic activism, or only serve to reinforce the existing gap between the technologically rich and poor? Will it level the playing field for developing societies, or instead strengthen the advantages of post-industrial economies? Will parties, interest groups, and governments use the Net to encourage interactive participation, or will the technology be used as another form of ‘top-down’ communications? the political role of the Internet reflects and thereby reinforces, rather than transforms, the structural features of each country’s political system. In some, voluntary organizations and community groups mobilize people into politics. In others, citizens often become active via strong mass-branch party organizations. In yet others, grassroots social movements involve people in protest politics, such as direct action to protect the environment. The Net becomes a common resource which different agencies can use in the attempt to generate public support and to influence the policy process. The Internet thereby alters the mobilizing structure, providing new points of access into the political system, creating new possibilities for collective action, organizational linkage across distances, and informal networks.
Microsoft Corp. pledged nearly $1 million for four new initiatives to help communities around the world bridge the digital divide. Additionally, Microsoft endorsed the White House global digital divide Call to Action and served as a founding member of the President's "Digital Leaders Program," a group of industry leaders including Andersen Consulting, Cisco Systems Inc., IBM Corp., Eastman Kodak Co., America Online Inc., Motorola Inc. and Lucent Technologies Inc. who together have committed to help create digital opportunity for the people of the world, and to take concrete steps to help facilitate these opportunities

  14. Thank You 4 getting good material out here.

  15. Excelllent video and great inspiration to young blacks who are thinking of going into the music business. People tend to get swayed with by all the glamour and forget that there are others beside the glitz and glamour. It’s so good to see intelligent and articulate blacks which the media deliberately neglects to show. Keep posting these types of videos maybe they won’t get as many views as the gangster and thuggery videos but who cares.

  16. Starting a small jewelry business is always a good idea, especially in these financially dreadful times. But it may take you a lot of time to set it up. You need to have sales experience, product knowledge, find wholesalers, a startup investment and make a thorough business plan. What’s more, I hope you realize you’re not alone in this cutthroat business, so there’s always the risk of failure involved. Maybe you could take a look at Sarbliny.com, where you can claim your own region, run no risk whatsoever, be your own boss and claim a region of several million or more potential patrons. No costs. No scam. Ask for their email brochure, it explains it all. Study it. Good luck.

  17. You stand a greater chance of getting a government-guaranteed loan through the Small Business Administration http://www.sba.gov/financing than a government grant. Read the SBA Financing page to learn about criteria needed for borrowing

It is hard to find grants to start a business. Unlike the myths that some perpetuate, federal government and even private foundations hardly give grant money for a for-profit business. And yes, grants mean PAPERWORK – lots and lots of it, that is why a cottage industry of grant writers was born.

Nonetheless, you can go to the Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA) http://www.cfda.gov and Grants.gov http://www.grants.gov – these are two sites created by the federal government to provide transparency and information on grants. Browse through the listings and see if you can find any grant that would support a for-profit venture.

Even if you buy books on "how to get grants" or list that supposedly has information on grants — all of them are mere rehash of what CFDA has, albeit packaged differently. But still the info is the same – hardly any grants for starting a for profit business.

Even SBA does NOT give out grants. From the SBA website http://www.sba.gov/expanding/grants.html

"The U.S. Small Business Administration does not offer grants to start or expand small businesses, although it does offer a wide variety of loan programs. (See http://www.sba.gov/financing for more information) While SBA does offer some grant programs, these are generally designed to expand and enhance organizations that provide small business management, technical, or financial assistance. These grants generally support non-profit organizations, intermediary lending institutions, and state and local governments."

Here is a listing of federal grants for small businesses. See if there is any available for individuals for starting a business — THERE'S NONE.
    http://12.46.245.173/pls/portal30/CATALOG.BROWSE_BENEF_RPT.show

Most of the federal grants are given to specific target groups with specific requirements (e.g. minority business owners involved in transportation related contracts emanating from DOT – Grant#20.905 Disadvantaged Business Enterprises Short Term Lending Program

Grants are also often given to non profit groups or organizations involved in training or other similar activities (grant 59.043 Women's Business Ownership Assistance that are given to those who will create women's business center that will train women entrepreneurs
